Emerging food companies achieve listings with key distributor
Couverture, Sushi King, Paddy’s O’Granola and G’s Gourmet Jam have achieved product listings with Pallas Foods, while discussions are ongoing with others of the 10 food processing firms who engaged in the Supplier Development Programme.
Pallas Foods purchasing manager Eddie Heffernan said: “Over the past six months we have worked with some of the best small and emerging food companies in Ireland, and hopefully giving them a boost in tough economic times. And, as a result, we look forward to introducing innovative new products to the Pallas Foods portfolio.”
The six-month programme was delivered by consultants James Burke & Associates.
EI food division manager Dick Lenehan said: “This highly practical industry-led programme has opened doors for early-stage Irish food companies, greatly strengthening their capacity to win new business at home and by entering export markets.”
Bord Bia’s Teresa Brophy added: “This innovative project with Pallas Foods is exactly the type of partnership we want to see between producers and foodservice distributors in the industry.”
