Westport: Connacht Gold has announced that it will begin the expansion and upgrade of its Westport DIY & Garden Centre in May.

A total of €1.5 million will be invested in the project by Connacht Gold and will result in the creation of four to six new jobs for the town.

The building contract for the project, which include a total site revamp, is currently out to tender and it is hoped the store will be trading by February 2012.
