US economic growth exceeds estimates

Washington: The US economy grew more quickly than previously estimated in the fourth quarter as businesses restocked shelves to meet rising demand and maintained fairly solid spending.

Gross domestic product growth in the final quarter of 2010 was revised up to an annualised rate of 3.1%, the Commerce Department said in its final estimate.
