BORD BIA is reminding consumers of the health benefits to be gained from outdoor activities with the launch of their It’s Garden Time campaign.

The national food board recently surveyed consumers to find that 46% of people intend improving their garden this year. Some 45% of intend to grow their own vegetables, while 70% would like to have more information about plant care.

The survey also found that most people view the garden as a natural extension to their home: 76% use the garden for relaxing; 50% for entertaining; 42% play area for children; 38% for eating.
