Rise in profits at Legends Hotel

THE group that owns the Legends Hotel in Mauritius where Michaela Harte was murdered last month has posted an eight-fold increase in profits.

Naiade Resorts Ltd, which owns 10 luxury properties in the Indian Ocean, has announced a 121 million rupee (€303,530.71) pre-tax profit for the quarter ended December, up from 14.4 million rupee (€35,119.26) in the same period a year ago.

A significant increase in occupancy levels was responsible for the huge profit increase. The group’s share price increased 11% since January 31 after the profit announcement and theexpectation of further increases despite the high profile murder of Mickey Harte’s daughter on honeymoon on January 10.
