Liquidation levels fell 17% last month

LIQUIDATIONS in January were down 17.3% on figures for the same period in 2010.

In total, 101 companies were insolvent, down 20 from the January 2010 figures, according to the Vision-net.ie Business Barometer.

There was a slight increase in the number of companies being set up this January when compared to last year. In all, 1,183 start-ups were incorporated, up 1.4% on figures for the same period in 2010.
