RCSI in Bahrain to build alumni ties
RCSI has about 3,500 students, 70% or 2,450 of which are non-Irish.
Each of these students contribute €8,000 per year to the economy.
“They contribute to the Irish economy by bringing jobs and consumer expenditure,” Professor Cathal Kelly said.
Over 200 RCSI alumni attended a reception in Bahrain as part of RCSI’s endeavours to create an active Alumni Association in the region, this week.
UAE students have been travelling to Ireland to study in RCSI since 1988 and to date over 430 UAE alumni have graduated through its undergraduate programmes in medicine and its postgraduate surgical programmes.
