Market looks on bright side

THE ISEQ index started the week in positive territory despite increasing pressure being mounted on the Government to seek a bailout from the IMF and ECB Stability Fund.

The ISEQ gained 18.51 points on the day to 2,694.24.

Financial stocks were mixed overall with AIB climbing 2.2c to 40.7c and Bank of Ireland easing back by 1.2c to 36.6c. Irish Life & Permanent was unchanged at 87c with FBD Holdings sliding 11c to 5.66 on the day.
