Delay to Murdoch’s €9bn Sky bid

London: British Business Secretary Vince Cable called for a review of Rupert Murdoch-led News Corp’s proposed £7.8 billion (€9bn) bid for the rest of British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc, potentially delaying the deal.

Cable has asked regulator Ofcom to investigate “the public interest consideration of media plurality,” Britain’s Department for Business, Innovation and Skills said.

The media regulator will report by December 31.
