Chartbusters chain closes all 16 stores

Dublin: Chartbusters has closed all of its 16 stores with the loss of 22 full-time and 65 part-time jobs, following a decision by the directors of Chartbusters to initiate a voluntary liquidation.

“The company has had discussions over several months with interested parties in relation to the sale of the majority of the stores but encountered difficulties, mainly due to unsustainable high rents and upwardly-only rent review clauses in the Chartbusters store leases,” a statement said.
