Construction firm €10m in the red

ONE of the country’s largest construction firms BAM Contractors fell into the red last year, recording pre-tax losses of almost €10m. This compares to a profit of €22.5m in the previous year.

Turnover was down from €460m in 2008 to €362m last year. The company said together with its parent company, Royal BAM Group, it is targeting opportunities to expand in home markets and internationally.

The accounts for BAM Contractors Limited say the principal activities of the company are civil engineering and main building contracting in the public and private sectors as well as property development.
