London: Ireland may sell as much as €8 billion of bonds in the rest of the year, according to Glas Securities, which specialises in fixed-income markets.

The country’s National Treasury Management Agency may consider a sale of bonds by banks in a syndication, as well as holding auctions over the next three months, the firm said. The country’s fiscal deficit may surge to about 26.5% of gross domestic product this year, as once-off bank capitalisation costs are included in the shortfall.
