200 positions to be filled at Deloitte

BUSINESS consultancy Deloitte is on a recruitment drive to fill 200 new positions in Ireland, following a number of recent business wins.

Most immediately, Deloitte is seeking 30 technology consultants and 20 consultants for its audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance services in Dublin. It has also begun recruiting to fill the other 150 nationwide positions, aimed at graduates who will begin work next January.

The company is seeking junior and senior Java developers, solution and application architects, project managers and cloud computing specialists. There are also advisory roles in the firm’s audit, consulting and enterprise risk services departments.

Many of these consultant roles have been created to meet Deloitte’s clients’ need for expert help in achieving internal cost savings.

“As organisations look to reduce costs through the more efficient use of IT, opportunities to supply services in this area are created. In addition, we have retained a strong advisory practice and believe our multi-disciplinary offering will create further opportunities,” Deloitte managing partner Pat Cullen said..

Meanwhile, graduates will also be recruited for Deloitte’s offices in Dublin, Cork and Limerick, across all departments, including audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance.

At least 150 positions will be available for a 2011 start, while there are a small number of positions available for a 2010 start. The positions will be available to graduates with a range of disciplines – not only those with accountancy and business backgrounds, but also graduates with engineering, IT and legal skills.

Mr Cullen said: “We recognise the importance to our graduate recruitment programme. Across the profession, graduate recruitment has slowed over the last two years in tandem with the economic pressures. Now more than ever, we are looking for graduates with a diverse range of qualifications to work with our clients across a number of industries.”

Graduates joining Deloitte will work with client companies in financial services, consumer business, real estate and infrastructure, technology, media and telecommunications, energy, and the public sector. Trainees in the Deloitte Academy will work with some of Ireland’s most prestigious companies.
