Harvest set to be completed as good weather makes a comeback

FARMERS are expected to complete the harvest over the coming days with the help of anticipated fine weather.

However, the production level will be back, according to estimates from Teagasc, which is predicting an output of 1.9 million tonnes, down 4.2% on 2009.

Irish Farmers Association Grain Committee chairman Noel Delany said up to €155/t (at 20% moisture, excluding VAT) is achievable on deals for green barley with €10 over for wheat.
