Bid Management welcomes guide

BID Management Services has welcomed the publication of new government guidelines in respect of public procurement because they will make it much easier for SMEs to win contracts.

Chairman Peter Brennan said: “One of the significant changes is that the Department of Finance has informed all public bodies, with immediate effect, that all contracts for supplies and non-construction services over a value of €25,000 must be published on eTenders.

“This will increase greatly the number of published tenders. In future, there will be no more pre-qualification requirements for tenders of a value of less than €125,000. This will speed up decision making and cut down on paperwork.”
