Depressingly dismal news from ailing financial sector

MOST of the key banks operating in the Irish market have now reported first half results for 2010, all of them depressingly poor.

Bank of Ireland yesterday announced losses of €1.2bn, a good bit ahead of expectations, but major losses nonetheless.

Since this time last year its shares have slipped from €2.01 to 84c by yesterday.
