THE Irish market performed strongly yesterday having lost ground at the end of last week.

Bourses across Europe were stronger on the day and Ireland managed to benefit from the positive sentiment. The ISEQ index jumped 50.04 points to 2983.97.

Financials all posted positive movement. AIB tacked on 0.5c to close at 92.5c. Bank of Ireland and Irish Life and Permanent gained 4.2c and 5c respectively to finish the session at 87c and 1.90.
