Market closes marginally up

THE market in Dublin market closed marginally higher yesterday. The ISEQ index nudged upwards by just 1.48 points to 2963.34.

Market closes marginally up

The bank sector was weaker on the day as AIB finished down 5.5c at 93.3c. Bank of Ireland and Irish Life and Permanent were also in the red, down 2c and 1.3c to 84.5c and 1.822 respectively.

The construction sector continued to be mixed with CRH and Kingspan making ground. The former added 2.5c to 16.33, while the latter gained 1.3c to 5.613. Grafton Group shed 4c to 2.90.

Both Ryanair and Aer-Lingus showed gains, Ryanair moving on 5c to 3.95, while Aer Lingus rose 2c to 97c.
