Revenue per customer drops at O2

O2 IRELAND attracted 5,200 new customers during the second quarter of this year, to bring its total subscriber base to 1.711 million people as of the end of June.

The mobile communications provider — which is owned by Spanish telco, Telefonica — however, saw monthly average revenues per user across the first six months of 2010 drop from €39.55 to €37.14, on a year-on-year basis.

There was also a slight drop in O2 Ireland’s total revenue, during the quarter, at €193 million — down from €196m in the preceding three months.
