Avolon lands another fleet deal

IRISH-OWNED aircraft leasing company Avolon has completed its second significant fleet enhancement in less than a week.

Avolon lands another fleet deal

The Dublin-headquartered company — established earlier this year by Jetbird founder, Domhnall Slattery — has placed an order with aircraft manufacturing giant, Boeing for 12 of its ‘next generation’ 737s. The value of the order — at current list prices — is $921 million (€714.3m).

The 737-800 craft makes up more than one quarter of the combined overall global fleet of large commercial jet airlines, part of its popularity based on its fuel efficiency and overall economic performance.
