Avolon’s purchase of two planes helps boost fleet

IRISH aircraft leasing company Avolon is confident of further boosting its fleet, following its acquisition of two aeroplanes from Air Berlin for an undisclosed fee.

The deal with Air Berlin, which is the second largest airline in Germany and the fifth largest in Europe, boosts the Irish company’s fleet to over 30 and is not the only new bit of business concerning Avolon currently in train.

The company claims that it is in advanced discussions with various international airlines over a range of deals and “a number of other transactions”.
