Radiator firms fined over cartel

Brussels: The Belgian Competition Council has announced it has fined four Belgian steel plate radiator manufacturers — Masco, Quinn, Caradon and Radson (now called Rettig) — for participating in a cartel in the steel plate radiator market in Belgium.

Three of the firms pleaded guilty. Masco was given total immunity.

In return for providing the council with additional evidence on the cartel, Irish-owned Quinn was granted a reduction in its fine under the leniency programme and was fined around €200,000.
