Limerick’s Milk Market to reopen

Limerick: The Limerick Milk Market will reopen on June 19 following the completion of a €2 million re-development programme.

The re-development has transformed the Milk Market into an all-weather venue with four new shops, has made power and water available at all stall positions and introduced a new mezzanine seating area overlooking the market’s main courtyard.

Chairman, Limerick Market Trustees, David O’Mahony said: “This means that Milk Market Limerick, which was established in 1852 and is amongst the oldest markets in the country, now has the most up-to-date facilities of any market in the land.

“These upgraded facilities have already attracted new, award-winning food producers to establish a full-time presence there.

They have also enabled the roll-out of an extended programme of markets and events at the Milk Market and spurred on the launch of a new website.”
