Backing for Tullow Oil partnership

Uganda: PFC Energy, a US oil and gas industry consultant, backed a planned partnership between Tullow Oil Plc, Total SA and China National Offshore Oil Corp to develop Uganda’s oil fields, the East African nation’s presidency said.

The partnership “will bring immense capacity to the development of the Uganda energy sector,” the presidency said, in an emailed statement from the capital, Kampala. It cited Michael Rodgers, the PFC partner for Africa.

China National Offshore Oil and Total will each take stakes in Tullow’s blocks once approval is given.
