ISEQ drops after day of light trading

The ISEQ index dropped 51.82 points to 2,938.78 in relatively light trading.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland shed 4c to 74c. AIB added 1c to 1.04. Irish Life & Permanent dipped 11c to 1.93, while insurance company FBD Holdings decreased 33c to 6.42. In the construction sector, CRH gave up 78c to 18.22. Kingspan weakened 8c to 7.17, while Grafton Group enjoyed a gain of 7c to close at 3.27.

In other news, Ryanair gained 4c to 3.29. The company reports full year results on Tuesday next. Aer Lingus lost 1c to 71c. Pharmaceutical firm Elan progressed 14c to 4.58. Food producer Aryzta fell 85c to 26.50, while C&C declined 13c to 3.21.
