Reports and complaints up 47% in ‘challenging and demanding’ year

IN 2009 a 47% increase in the number of new reports and complaints filed with the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE) was recorded, according to its annual report.

ODCE director Paul Appleby, said last year was “particularly challenging and demanding”.

Apart from the ongoing probe into Anglo, the ODCE initiated a High Court investigation into the DCC case after the civil action involving alleged insider dealing in the sale of shares in Fyffes failed.
