Gateway Ireland website reaches out to Irish diaspora

John McColgan is leading a group, coming out of the Farmleigh conference, to work on the website, called Gateway Ireland. They have drafted in Irish actor Gabriel Byrne, who is also cultural ambassador for Ireland, for the launch.

The website will include language-specific “electronic embassies” which developers say will offer Ireland a unique presence and competitive advantage within the developing nations of the world, such as Brazil, Russian, India and China. This section of the website will contain information on the various countries for people living there and also for people looking to do business in these locations.
