ISEQ makes modest six-point gain

THE ISEQ index enjoyed a modest gain of six points to end the week at 2,888. European bourses were still shaky for most of the day over lingering worries about sovereign debt and economic growth.

Bank of Ireland edged up 1c to 77c. AIB added 3c to 1.08. Irish Life & Permanent dipped 3c to 2.15, while insurance company FBD Holdings moved on 1c to 7.01.

In the construction sector, CRH increased 19c to 17.79. Kingspan jumped 31c to 6.86, while Grafton Group advanced 23c to 3.08.
