Farmers invited to attend Teagasc open days at Greenfield Dairy Farm
The former 112 hectare tillage farm is part of a joint project to provide family dairy farmers with the skills and technologies to expand milk production in a financially rewarding scenario, once European Union milk quotas are abolished in 2013.
Teagasc, Glanbia, the Agricultural Trust, FBD Trust, AIB and farm owners the Phelan family are involved in the collaborative project, which is part of Teagasc’s new BETTER Dairy Farm Programme.
