CONCERNS have been raised about plans at European level to reform financial regulation with fears the proposals could have “unforeseen consequences” for Ireland.

Plans are in place at the European Union to reform financial regulation in Europe by the end of this year but an Oireachtas committee has said that it seems the legislation is being rushed through.

A report published by the Oireachtas Committee on European Scrutiny has recommended the proposals be scrutinised at both European and national level.
