Directors at United Drug see slight dip in salaries

TOTAL executive director remuneration at United Drug was reduced marginally last year, with management seeing a decline in their basic salary and all performance-related bonuses being waived.

=Total remuneration came to €2.83 million for the drug wholesale and healthcare services company’s last financial year – up to the end of last September – compared with a combined total of €2.88m for the previous financial year. While the removal of cash bonuses played a part, United’s chief executive Liam FitzGerald saw his basic annual salary fall from €600,000 to €580,000 and his total remuneration package go from €1.05m to €917,000.

Group finance director Barry McGrane saw his salary remain constant at €320,000, but his total financial package fell from €553,000 to €493,000. Chris Corbin, a director of the company since 2003 and currently the managing director of its contract sales and marketing services division, saw a reduction in his remuneration package from €734,000 to €581,000; while that of Annette Flynn (head of UD’s packaging and speciality services division) fell from €396,000 to €353,000.
