AIB secures €70k in courts

AIB has secured more than €70,000 in judgments against borrowers in the last 12 months – with the latest repayment order being made against a privately owned Fermoy-based healthcare services company.

The latest edition of debt monitoring publication, Stubbs Gazette lists a total of 28 judgments against a variety of consumers, professionals and companies in Co Cork.

Joint company directors, Eugene (Gene) Barry and Margo Walsh – with a home address in Douglas – of Fermoy-based healthcare product sales firm, Allied Mobility Ireland Ltd (which was formerly known as Allied Healthcare Services) were ordered, on December 14, to repay loans amounting to €46,521 to AIB.

According to figures from debt monitoring company, BusinessPro – which publishes the Irish edition of Stubbs Gazette – AIB secured 984 judgments against borrowers between the beginning of January of last year and the end of November.

Bank of Ireland, meanwhile, had just under 2,000 judgments for loan repayments made in its favour over the course of the first eleven months of last year (amounting to just over €33,100 being recouped). The Revenue Commissioners (1,538 judgments amounting to an aggregate €46,000) and communications companies Eircom and Hutchison 3G Ireland both featured on the list of top plaintiffs for last year, but the list was topped by credit unions, with a combined 3,444 successful judgments amounting to a combined €13,573 in repayments.
