Trade minister Billy Kelleher will lead the delegation of construction, IT, healthcare and education companies to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

It is hoped the trip will further raise the profile of Irish business in what has become one of the fastest growing markets in the Gulf.

“Sales by Irish companies in the UAE were €333 million last year, an annual increase of 14%,” said Mr Kelleher.

Some 44 companies are part of the mission which will meet with industry leaders in telecoms, pharmaceuticals, third level education, power, construction and software.

Enterprise Ireland’s chief executive Frank Ryan said there is substantial potential for increased trade between the two countries.
