Two billion texts sent in 3 months

IRISH customers of O2 and Vodafone sent almost two billion text messages in the three months to the end of September representing a 25% increase on the same period last year.

O2 customers sent 783 million text messages in the quarter while Vodafone said its customers send 1.16 billion.

According to figures released yesterday O2Ireland said its monthly average revenues per user (ARPU) fell in the period to €62.11 from €72.20 for the same time last year.
