Leading Edge wins Canadian contract

CORK business Leading Edge Group has won a significant contract to provide training services to healthcare professionals in Canada.

Leading Edge wins Canadian contract

The deal with the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) will boost the Cobh-headquartered firm’s annual revenue by around Can$500,000 (€315,500).

Leading Edge, which already has a presence in the Canadian market, will provide face-to-face training and webcasts to healthcare leaders as part of the OHA’s Governance Centre of Excellence.

The OHA represents 150 public hospitals across the province of Ontario, which has a population of more than 13 million people.

The Cork company has already provided training services for the likes of Pfizer, Dell, Pepsi, Boston Scientific, Honeywell and Tim Hortons, but it is rapidly growing in the healthcare marketplace.

“Our whole ethos is about equipping key people in client organisations with the skills to become in-house champions for efficient performance, process improvement and waste elimination.

“We work in partnership with team members rather than lecturing to them. And we are particularly pleased to be brought on board by the Ontario Hospital Association, which was recently named as one of Greater Toronto’s top 90 employers,” said Leading Edge chief executive and founder JoeAherne.

“Since establishing our Toronto office, we have built particular strength in delivering education and training to a range of professions in the Canadian healthcare sector, including doctors, consultants, nurses, administrators and allied healthcare professionals.

“Importantly, those who successfully complete our programmes under this latest contract will receive certification that counts towards the Ontario Hospital Association Diploma in Healthcare Management, so the learning is fully accredited,” he added.

The company counts among its strategic partners the Institute of Industrial Engineers in both Ireland and the US, the University of Denver and University College Cork.
