Ryan appointed to IL&P board

Dublin: The chairman of Irish Life & Permanent, Gillian Bowler, has announced that Pat Ryan will be appointed to the board as a non-executive director effective from the next board meeting on December 15.

An actuary, Mr Ryan is a former group treasurer and chief risk officer with AIB Bank. He retired from AIB Group in 2002.

Ms Bowler said that the combination of treasury, risk and actuarial skills that Mr Ryan possessed were particularly relevant for Irish Life & Permanent at this time and his appointment represented an important strengthening of the board.
