CARLOW farmer Derek Deane has formally launched his campaign to be the next president of the Irish Farmers’ Association.

Deane cites ‘experience, vision and leadership’ in bid for IFA top job

Speaking at his campaign launch in Leighlinbridge, Co Carlow, he said experience, vision and leadership are the three planks on which he is putting himself forward for election by farmers.

Mr Deane is currently the deputy president of the IFA and has held other senior positions in the organisation.
