SIX groups are battling it out to supply a national news service to a consortia of regional radio stations following the collapse of Independent Network News (INN) last week.

INN chairman Charlie Collins said it is hoped to have a temporary news service for 18 local stations following the conclusion of the INN service at the end of this month.

ā€œINN established the sub-committee to oversee this process in a fair and transparent manner following the decision to wind up INN due to its serious loss-making position.

ā€œThis is an open competition and the board will announce the winner of the tender when the process is concluded next week,ā€ he said.
