Lane to head Dairy Board

THE new chief executive of the Irish Dairy Board is Kevin Lane, a native of Brosna, Co Kerry, who is currently with the Kerry Group.

He will take over the position on January 4, replacing interim chief executive Sean Brady, who was appointed to the role in March while the board underwent a formal appointment process.

Mr Lane, who is married with three children, is an honours business graduate of the University of Limerick, specialising in sales and marketing.

He has held a number of senior management positions with the Kerry Group over 22 years. Most recently, he was global president and chief executive of its global flavours division.

Mr Lane also has experience of international food sales and marketing, having spent 10 years in the US, Mexico and Canada with the Kerry Group. He also managed a division of the group’s consumer foods business in Britain.
