TECHNOLOGY, competitive focus and enhanced trading ties with China can speed up Ireland’s recovery, according to leading industry analysts.

Senior executives from Apple, Altobridge, Glass- house and other technology companies are joining with leading academics and industry analysts for the 11th annual it@cork Technology in Business Conference, sponsored by the Irish Examiner. They will discuss the theme Recovery Through Technology in Cork on Wednesday, November 18.

“There are huge opportunities in China for Irish companies,” said Liam Casey, chief executive of China-based consumer electronics company PCH International, who will deliver the opening address at the conference. “We just have to go out there and look for them. We have to play to our strengths and build the brands that deliver the products. That’s where the value and opportunities are.”

Dr Ed Walsh will speak on Recovery Through Competitiveness. Apple’s senior director of IT, EMEIA, Steve Hester, will address delegates on Consumerisation in IT.

Boston-based Richard Scannell of Glasshouse Technologies will explain how to Leverage the Cloud for New Business Opportunities. Mike Fitzgerald, chief executive of Kerry-based Altobridge, will outline How to Create an International Success from Ireland.

The event takes place in the Radisson Hotel, Little Island, Cork.
