Chamber chiefs offer businesses chance ‘to get back to the future’

Entitled “Re-Booting our economy – back to the future”, its aim is to inspire delegates to return to the basic principles of sound business development.

Chief executive of the chamber Conor Healy said although Cork had developed significantly in recent times, the economic environment had made realising opportunities more challenging.

“This half-day conference is aimed at individuals with an interest in the future development of Cork,” he said.

“We encourage those involved in these sectors to attend and contribute to the debate on re-booting our economy and putting vitality back into business.

“With this in mind we have put together an expert range of speakers for this conference, which will conclude with a lively panel discussion.”

Guest speakers include: head of HSBC Ireland, Rory Quinlan; chief executive of Bord Gáis, John Mullins; and chief executive at Tyndall National Institute, Professor Roger Whatmore.

The conference takes place on October 20 at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa. Details available by contacting Leigh Gillen at the Chamber, tel (021) 4530133; email leigh@corkchamber.ie; or through the Chamber website, www.corkchamber.ie.
