Market moves above 3,000 points

THE ISEQ began the week with a gain of 28.4 points to 3,066.61 points in line with bourses throughout Europe.

Investors took much encouragement from the G20’s pledge to keep emergency support for economies in place until a recovery is firmly secured.

In the financial sector, the main bank stocks were mixed. AIB was down 0.4c at €2.41, Bank of Ireland shed 2c to €2.35, Irish Life & Permanent advanced 19c to €4.99, while insurance group FBD Holdings shed 2c to €7.25.
