ROYAL Liver Group is undertaking a major review of some of its group activities, including its Citadel advice service set up in Ireland in 2006.

The British-based Friendly Society — which offers a range of financial services in the Irish and UK market, including life cover — suffered a first-half loss of £90,000 (€102,400) in what was a difficult six months in its core markets, it said.

Overall the group said its core brands, represented by Progress and Caledonian Life, delivered robust performances and these will remain the focus of the group going forward.
