Kentz wins €87m communications infrastructure contract in Australia

The AIM-listed company, which specialises in the provision of electrical and engineering services to the global oil and gas exploration industry, has been awarded the contract to develop a telecommunications infrastructure by Chevron Australia on its Gorgon gas project, situated approximately 200km off the north-western coast of Australia. Back in June, Kentz won the initial €285m contract (through its Decmil Group joint venture with Australian mining group, Thiess) to build a village to house Chevron’s construction workers while they were developing the site.

The Aus$50bn Gorgon project, part of the Carnarvo Basin/North-West Shelf, is expected to get under way later this year.
