PAYMENT protection insurance sellers are not sufficiently explaining the reasons why claims could be rejected, according to the Financial Regulator.

A new report reveals that the majority of declined claims are due to the non-disclosure of medical conditions and a failure to satisfy employment criteria.

Head of consumer protection George Treacy said: “Firms need to highlight to consumers at the point of sale that these policies can have exclusions from claims.”
