IRISH investors are looking further afield for opportunities particularly in emerging markets, according to the findings of a survey from RaboDirect.

It found that 58% of Irish investors have a positive outlook for the global economy for the next 12 months but also notes that 84% are pessimistic about the Irish economy, especially the property market.

The results show suggestions of a pick-up in the global economy are encouraging investors to move away from the relative safety of cash and bonds, with 45% of respondents looking to equities as their preferred asset class.
