Diageo Ireland to shed 107 jobs

DIAGEO IRELAND, owners of several international brands including Guinness, has announced it will shed 107 jobs or 5% of its 2,000 Irish workforce as part of a cost-cutting exercise.

The axe will fall across the group’s back-up services, but it is thought the production area will not be hit in this round of losses.

Management sources were unable to give assurances yesterday on the future outlook for the remaining jobs.
