HEAVY rains are having a serious impact on livestock farmers throughout the country forcing farmers to take stock out of paddocks, Teagasc warned last night.

Teagasc, the agriculture and food development authority, said the cumulative effects of the ongoing heavy rains are now having a serious impact on livestock farms across most of the country.

“Many affected farmers have re-housed cattle, particularly on heavy soils, while they wait for ground conditions to improve.
