Co-op to help milk producers through ‘critical’ month

DAIRYGOLD AGRI and Macroom Mills have announced a €25 per tonne rebate on all compound dairy feed purchased in May.

The €25 per tonne will be credited retrospectively to farmers at the end of the month. Explaining the initiative, Dairygold Agri boss Jim Woulfe said, “May is a critical month for dairy farmers. At the height of the breeding season, it is essential that cows would be enjoying good grazing.”

“Unfortunately, this year, the very wet weather has seriously affected grazing conditions and has made operating conditions for dairy farmers even more challenging against the background of poor market returns.”
