AER LINGUS cut the pay of its former chief executive Dermot Mannion by 42% last year to €652,000 from €1.1 million.

The company’s annual report also showed total pay for the company’s directors dropped to €1.71m from €2.21m in 2007.

Chief financial officer and newly appointed head of short-haul operations Sean Coyle was paid €187,000 in 2008 while company secretary Greg O’Sullivan was paid €138,000, which is significantly less than the €515,000 he received in 2007 after he was moved from the position of finance director in March last year.
